Designed to Repair

Kwik Seals were designed and patented over seventeen years ago by Jim Schlund, who grew up on a farm in Murtaugh Idaho.  Jim went to ISU in Idaho and received his degree in mechanics. After working in the repair world for ten years he got his teaching degree and worked at the College of Southern Idaho in Twin Falls for 30 years as the head of the Deisel Mechanics program.  Because of his background in farming and mechanics, he is constantly on the search for making the farming process easier.  Twenty years ago, he designed this product.  After thorough testing out at the Site, he had it patented and began manufacturing for distribution to the farming community.  Kwik Seals have been sold in the Magic Valley for over 17 years with tried and true success.  

Kwik Seals are a quick, easy to install, reusable, way to make temporary, emergency repairs on most pipe leaks. The pipe may be stainless steel, aluminum, copper, steel, plastic (PVC) or any rigid piping.  Kwik Seals allow the user to make permanent repairs when it is more convenient or desirable, saving both time and money.  Leaks may be caused by holes, punctures, electrolysis, corrosion, freezing, weld separation, stress, thread deterioration, and/or vibrations.  Seals may be applied to rough or smooth surfaces.  All clamps are stainless steel and pressures have been tested to withstand the pressures indicated with allowances for spikes and safety margins.  Think of it as a pipe "Bandaid" so to speak.

There are three different kinds of Kwik Pipe Repair products. 

The standard Seal is designed to repair holes and punctures up to 1 1/2" in diameter.  It fits rigid pipe from 1/2" to 12".  It is specifically shaped to conform to the outside diameter of the pipe.  The nitrile o-ring is an excellant general sealing component that has been tested to withstand continuous high temperatures up to 250` F and low temperature capabitiy of -67 F.  The Kwik Seal will hold pressures up to 100 PSI.

The spherical can be used to repair joints, fittings and splits that occur around the pipe.  The "Nitrile" stripping is 3/4" wide and will seal a crack 1/4" wide up to 12" long.  This Seal is specially designed stripping mold which conforms into splits, threads, and holes on any rigid pipe.  It has the same PSI and temperature recommendations as the standard.

Then we have our multipurpose seal for repairing linear or spherical splits or leaks on fittings such at street L's, elbows, T's joints, threads, holes and dented pipe.  The "Nitrile" stripping is 3/4" wide and 3/8" thick and can be any length up to 6" long.  It is flexible, tough and durable.  The stripping is specifically designed with ribs on one side and flat on the other for multipurpose usage.  This way it can conform and contour to any irregular or rough surface.  The same PSI and temperature recommendations apply to this product as well.

Let us give you only one example of how this can work for your farm.  Your pivot pipe springs a leak and not a tiny one.  You have water going all over.  Wasting water and losing precious crops is not an option.  Or can you afford the time it will take to shut down your pivot, drain the water, wait for the water to dry, call a welder out to fix the pipe?  Still not a great option.  Time is money and water is not something anyone can afford to lose.
